AQEEDAH OF IMAM SHAFI

"القول في السنة التي ان عليها والقول في السنة التي أنا عليها ورأيت عليها الذين رأيتهم مثل سفيان ومالك وغيرهما : 

الإقرار بشهادة ألا إله إلا الله وأن محمداً رسول الله ، وأن الله عرشه في سمائه يقرب من خلقه كيف يشاء وينزل من السماء كيف يشاء ، وأن الإيمان قول وعمل يزيد بالطاعة وينقص بالمعصية ، وأن القرآن كلام الله غير مخلوق ، وأنه لا خلود في النار للمؤمنين العصاة وإن ارتكبوا الكبائر.."

Imam Ibn Qayyim (rahimahullah) mentioned in his book Ijtimaa' juyoosh Al Islamiyyah that Imam  Al Shafie, Nasir us Sunnah said,

"My stance on Sunnah on which I am, and I saw our companions on it from Ahl al Hadith like Sufyan and Malik and others, is to testify that there is no one worthy of worship other than Allah and that the Muhammad is the messenger of Allah and that Allah ta'ala is established on his Arsh on the sky, gets close to his creation howsoever he wishes, and that Allah ta'ala descends down to the sky of the dunya howsoever he wishes, and that Iman is speech and action, it increases with acts of obedience and decreases with act of disobedience, and that Qur'an is the speech of Allah, not a creation; and that he would not put the believers in the fire forever for sins even if they were into the major sins.."
