UMAR IBN KHATTAB - T.V SERIES - AMAZING !!!

A TRULY BRILLIANT, AMAZING, AWESOME SERIES EVER MADE ON AN ISLAMIC TOPIC : HATS OFF TO THE PRODUCER & DIRECTOR

Yes Yes i know, I'm aware of All the fatwas and rulings which condemn such a video and for various reasons that too. However, to be honest , I'll share a real-life example with you to support my stance in promoting this series

I happen to have all kinds of friends, and without explaining in detail, I'll only say that one of my friend who happened to indulge in serious intoxication habits, one day asked me out of the blue to " bookmark some websites and etc which have biographies of the sahaabas" , Surprisingly and smilingly i did so. I knew he wouldn't have the time to read them for they are long and it requires dedication to learn about Islam. However, to my surprise 4 weeks later, all of a sudden while walking he told me how surprised and happy he was reading the Biography of some sahaabas, and especially Umar (r.a). Being a game freak that we are, we both loved discussing the military tactics and administration Umar (r.a) implemented.

And ever since then, he gives da'wah (invite to Islam) to every other Non muslim he meets in his office and etc. Never could i imagine such a guy becoming what he has ! All Praise is to Allah. However, if a black and white website could change a person this way, imagine the impact of a 200 Million Saudi Riyal movie would cast?

Nevertheless, this experience of mine does not justify the showing or supporting of this clip for i know it is not right and may Allah forgive me but he knows my intention and i hope forgives me. Wallahi, watching this series, me and many of my friends had an increase in their eeman, we loved Islam more and we learnt a lot. We used to read about all this, but seeing it with such amazing technology on t.v , it is WOW ! .

You could see the eloquence and manners of the arabs as well as how the elite of the society schemed and plotted to demean Islam. How one man, the prophet (saw) changed an entire society and ultimately the world. It highlights the fact that Islam came to govern all of life’s affairs including politics as well as spirituality.

Back then being the Caliph of the Muslims meant that it was a heavy burden and the best man had to be put in that position who cares for so much of the community and their affairs including non-muslims. You’ll see in the Umar series that Umar (ra) doesn’t want to take the place of power willingly as it entails a heavy burden and he knows that any failures would result him being sinful. This is how they were and how Muslims should be, contrary to our present day reality.

No TV show could ever claim to be comprehensive in telling the stories of the early muslims, the Umar series certainly doesn’t claim that either, but this series is by far the best documentary on any Islamic topic i have ever come across . It was made at a cost of 200 million Saudi Riyals (SAR) and filmed in Morocco

It not only shows the taqwa, manners and excellence of the Sahaabas but also shows how beautiful and flawless Islam is
