The prophet predicted Homosexuality would be wide spread and the destruction due to it

Appearing on the front page of the Miami Daily News on August 13th, 1954 was the first of a series of three articles aimed to inform the public about the “disease” of homosexuality.

In 1973, the American Psychiatric Association declassified homosexuality as a mental disorder.

Islam is as clear on homosexuality as the shining sun. Unfortunately some among the Muslims who claim to be scholars or students have exerted a lot to negate this. Be it due to inferiority complex with the west or due to peer pressure, or the fear of not being openly recognized by the organisations and community one works with or due to the fear of having the source of income slashed or simply personal homosexual tendencies or desires or as shaykh salih al-fawzan and scholars truly said that living in non islamic environment makes a person more exposed to falsehood and eventually makes him lighter or easier to accept these flaws due to what he has been seeing around in his society . These are some of the many reasons why those among Muslims unfortunately try to negate or lighten the islamic stance against homosexuality.  A simple google, even in Chinese is enough to show the islamic position yet those whom allah deviates , then who can guide them? .

This article will enlist very few quotes from the prophet, his companion(s) and some scholars predicting this homosexuality to become wide spread and summarizing the threat it brings upon mankind.  Notice that this is the Islamic position and in countries where it has been made legal (after considering it a disease for centuries at stretch) then those Muslims who live in those countries cannot violate the laws of the country by forcing or harming someone. Sure as your personal opinion you can dislike it or simply continue exercising your right to practicing/believing/educating what your faith teaches and this should be fine.

Women tasting food during ramadan and cooling oneself with water

Ibn 'Umar moistened a garment and put it on while he was fasting. Ash-Sha'bi went into the hammam ( olden days bathroom for shower).

Imam Tirmidhi and Ata ibn Abi Raibah's reply to Ghulaat on Taraweeh

One should not blame the manhaj or methodology due to the handy works of the laymen who claim adherence to that manhaj. Even scholars make certain mistakes. Nevertheless, it is well known and established that the prophet (sallalahu `alayhi wa sallam) never prayed more than 8 or atleast it is affirmed he never prayed 20 . This is near my research , if you happen to differ in your research due to whatsoever reasons be it academic or secterian then no need to kill each other. But it is proven that the sahaaba's era and the 1st three generations prayed way more than 8 rak`ah so restricting it to 8 or making tabdee` of those who call for more than 8 is unwarranted.

Imam tirmidhi (D. 279 - a 3rd century scholar's ) Fatwa on taraweeh

It would be foolish of anyone to say imam Tirmidhi spoke this without a daleel or on his own without having any "salaf" to back it up with.

The people of knowledge have differed over the rak`at for standing in Ramadan, Some held the view that one prays 41 rak`ah with the Witr, and it is the saying of the people of madeenah and such is their practice likewise. The majority of the people of knowledge held it to be 20 rak`at as it is related from `Umar, `Ali and other sahaaba of nabi sallalahu `alayhi wa sallam and it is the saying of (Sufyan) ath-thawri, Ibn al-Mubarak, and Ash-Sha`fee. Ash Sha`fee said : i found the people of our city praying 20 rak`at. Ahmad (ibn Hanbal) said :" there are various reports concerning it, but no specific number is agreed upon. Ishaaq (ibn rahaawy) said : we prefer 41 rak`at according to what has been reported from Ubay ibn Ka`b. Ibn al-Mubarak , ahmad, ishaaq preferred praying with the Imaam in the month of ramadan while al-sha`fee prefered a man pray by himself if he was a qaari......

why am i sharing this fatwa?

- so that those who out rightly reject the EXISTENCE of 20 or more rak`ah from the salaf should start reciting rabbi zidni` ilman asap

What about 8 rak`ah of taraweeh being the sunnah?

Well that is something undeniably established. From bukhaari to Tabaraani: 1/190 to Musnad Abu Ya’ala 2/362 to Ibn Hibban to Bayhaqi 2/492 to Muwatta to Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah (2/391) to many more but this doesn’t make 8+ haram or makrooh. Rather in Ramadan majority of the scholars agree the more you pray (with khushoo`) the better.

What is the point in mentioning this fatwa?

The point is that even if the narrations of 20 rak`at can be argued over (in authenticity) it is an established fact that the salaf did pray 20 and even more either due to believing those ahadeeth were saheeh near them or due to the agreed upon act of their scholars of a city or one area or two. So to use a very harsh word such as calling 20 rak`ah a bid`ah or to debunk the adherents of a valid school within Islam  (ahnaaf) and insult them or say they are bid`ati OR RESTRICT TARAWEEH ONLY ON 8 RAK'AH is far-fetched from intelligence.  I understand the proverb " you need two hands to clap" and i also know the ghuloo from the modern day hanfis but remember this that the Prophet (sallalahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

When two men insult one another, what they say is mainly the fault of the one who began it, so long as the one who is oppressed does not transgress.

[Saheeh Muslim (6263) So if you consider yourself in the oppressed know that the second you transgress the angel on the left shoulder is watching.]

The only valid reason to debate on this issue is when someone attributes 20 to the prophet. that is when we object to defend the prophet’s actions. But otherwise it should be all cool.

Ibn `Abd al-Barr said in al-Istidhkaar (2/69):

Twenty rak’ahs was narrated from ‘Ali, Shateer ibn Shakl, Ibn Abi Mulaykah, al-Haarith al-Hamadaani and Abu’l-Bakhtari. It is the view of the majority of scholars and it is the view of the Kufis, the Shaafa’is and most of the fuqaha’. It was narrated in saheeh reports from Ubayy ibn Ka’b, and there was no difference of opinion among the Sahaabah. `Ata ibn abi Raibah (who is a senior taba`I and has seen and studied from sahaaba) said:

: حدثنا ابن نمير عن عبد الملك عن عطاء قال أدركت الناس وهم يصلون ثلاثا وعشرين ركعة بالوتر .

I GREW UP at a time when the PEOPLE prayed twenty-three rak’ahs including Witr.

[Ref: see the athar of ata that in Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah (2/163) or [2/285]. `Abdul Malik ibn Jurayj’s `an from Ata` is acceptable and if this is `Abdul Malik ibn Abi Sulaiman - is also thiqah]

The very next Athar in Ibn Abi Shaybah says, Dawood bin Qays said: "I caught the era of people in Madeenah at the time of Umar bin Abdul Azeez and Abaan bin Uthmaan when they would pray THIRTY SIX rak'ahs and three witr"

The next Athar says, Ali bin Rabee'ah used to pray FIVE tarawehaat (i.e same as 20) plus three rakah witr

The Next Athar says, Sa'eed bin Jubayr led people for twenty nights in SIX rak'ahs and the last of them, he observed I'tifkaaf and prayed SEVEN rak'ahs

Abdur Rahmaan bin al-Aswad prayed FORTY rak'ahs of Taraweeh

WHAT ACTUALLY MATTERS?

1. Parking spot during taraweeh

2. To defend the prophet's behavior when falsely attributed to 8+ rak`ah in an academic and appropriate manner.

3. THE VIRTUE OF QIYAM (OR TARAWEEH) DURING RAMADAN [Click here : http://the-finalrevelation.blogspot.fr/2014/06/the-virtue-of-qiyam-or-taraweeh-during.html

Conclusion : any number of rak'ah is allowed and permissible by the salafus saliheen and even general ahadeeth.

Ps: The discussion about if 20 rak'ah are proven from the sahaba directly with them being mentioned in the matan then this can be referred to on www.systemoflife.com and www.ahlulisnaad.blogspot.com and www.ahlulhadeeth.wordpress.com (of br abu khuzayma)

As for it being proven indirectly via the testimony of the tab`ioon (such as `ata ibn abi raibah above) then yes it is proven with an authentic chain.

Pay Zakat first or the Pending Loan you owe someone first?

Know that Abu Bakr and the sahaaba fought, killed and enslaved those who denied to pay the zakat but accepted other rulings of Islam. This alone should cause goosebumps to those who think not following or fulfilling one obligatory pillar of Islam will save them because they fulfill the rest. And if this is the situation for zakat then the islamic ruling is that one should pay off his debts first and then if the money is left that reaches to the level of nisab then pay zakat.

Ameerul-Mumineen `Uthman ibn Affan (radhiallahu `anhu) said in the presence of the Sahaaba that :

(قال عثمان بمحضر من الصحابة: " هذا شهر زكاتكم فمن كان عليه دين فليؤده حتى تخرجوا زكاة أموالكم

"This is the month to pay Zakah, he who is in debt should pay it off and then should pay the due zakah (from the rest of his possessions if it reaches the nisab value that obligates zakat) and in another narration it says (حتى تحصل أموالكم فتؤدون منه الزكاة ) until you sort of your (remaining) wealth and then pay zakah from it

[Ref: Imam ash-shaf`ee narrated this in his Al-Umm (1/237) and Bayhaqi (4/148) both via Imam Malik and this is also in Muwatta Malik (1/253/17 as referenced by shaykh Albani). Also Ibn Abi Shaybah in his Musannaf (4/48) and others. Abu `Ubayd narrated in al-Amwaal (437/1247) in which the mentioned month is Ramadan.  This is Saheeh]

The narration of al-Amwaal states :

حدثنا إبراهيم بن سعد عن ابن شهاب به إلا أنه قال: " ... فليؤده حتى تخرجوا زكاة أموالكم , ومن لم تكن عنده لم تطلب منه , حتى يأتى بها تطوعا , ومن أخذ منه لم يؤخذ منه حتى يأتى هذا الشهر من قابل

And the narrator Ibraahim clarified that

Meaning the month of Ramadan

Imam Abu `Ubayd after narrating this narration said :

وقد جاءنا فى بعض الأثر ـ ولا أدرى عن من هو ـ أن هذا الشهر الذى أراده عثمان هو المحرم ".

[Ref: Irwa ul-Ghaleel3/341 Shamela and shaykh Albani also understood it this way. This does not mean that zakat is to be paid in ramadan only. No zakat is to be paid when one year with the possessions complete and reaches the nisaab irrespective of which month it is. But Muslims in general like to calculate their yearly savings from One ramadan to another ramadan and there is no problem in this until one purposely delays paying the ramadan even if for example his one year of that wealth possession is completed even a month or 2 months before ramadan. So he has to pay it when the year completes and not delay it until Ramadan]

Note: as per the prophetic hadeeth, even a saheeh whose status is so high is not forgiven for the financial debt he leaves behind. So make sure you pay your loans as soon as you can . Cut down on your Air condition and other non basic neccessities if you have to and if you are able to without suffering (from medical conditions or otherwise).

Additional statements quoted by Shaykh Muhammad saleh al-Munnajid on his website Islamqa are mentioned below for further clarity:

How Abu Bakr killed those who refused to pay the zakat

Zakat is one of the Obligatory pillars of Islam. Denying a Pillar makes one a kaafir an apostate and then in an Islamic ruling state , such an apostate if does not repent is killed . As for those Muslims who accept its obligation yet they hate to spend the money Allah gave them in the way of Allah itself (via zakat) incur the wrath of Allah bidhnillah

In this article, i will compile the narrations that speak of the events that took place between Khaleefatur-Rasoolillah - Abu Bakr as-siddeeq - and the apostates who obeyed everything of Islam except zakaat. Among the tips and tricks of searching a hadeeth - the easiest way to search the takhreej for these narrations is to search in

Jaami al-Jawami of Imam suyuti as-sufi rahimahullah [See: http://shamela.ws/index.php/book/1438

Jaami al-Masaneed of Imam ibn Katheer as-salafi rahimahullah

The students of hadeeth know why i have mentioned these two names.

Bismillahi salatu was-salaam `ala rasoolallah , `amma ba3d

It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that

When the RasoolAllah (sallalahu `alayhi wa sallam) breathed his last and Abu Bakr was appointed as his successor (Caliph), those amongst the Arabs who wanted to become apostates became apostates. `Umar (radhiallahu `anhu) ibn Khattab said to Abu Bakr: Why would you fight against the people, when RasoolAllah (sallalahu `alayhi wa sallam) declared: I have been directed to fight against people so long as they do not say: There is no god but Allah, and he who professed it was granted full protection of his property and life on my behalf except for a right? His (other) affairs rest with Allah. Upon this Abu Bakr said: By Allah, I would definitely fight against him who severed prayer from Zakat, for it is the obligation upon the rich. By Allah, I would fight against them even to secure the cord (used for hobbling the feet of a camel) which they used to give to RasoolAllah (as zakat) but now they have withheld it. `Umar b. Khattab remarked: By Allah, I found nothing but the fact that Allah had opened the heart of Abu Bakr for (perceiving the justification of) fighting (against those who refused to pay Zakat) and I fully recognized that the (stand of Abu Bakr) was right.”

Ruling of Fasting for an Old man or woman by Shaykh Ghulam Mustafa Zaheer

There is a consensus on the point that old men and women who are unable to keep fast then they should not fast (and avoid bringing harm to their health) and instead (as allah mentioned) feed a poor for per day of fast

[Ref: Kitab al-Ijma` of Ibn Mundhir (129)]

Ibn `Abbas (radhiallahu `anhu) said " Every old man and woman who is unable to keep a fast should instead feed one poor person for per fast

[Ref: Saheeh Bukhaari 4505]

The Messenger of Allah (sallalahu `alayhi wa sallam) said after reciting the verse

a limited number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of days. And upon those who are able - a ransom of feeding a poor person. [Qur`an 2:184]

"Old men who do not have the means or ability to fast should not fast. Rather they should provide one poor person half sa`a wheat per fast

[Ref: Sunan ad-daraqutni  2/209 H:2361 with a hasan chain as shaykh ghulam mustafa said]

Another narration states that the Messenger of Allah (sallalahu `alayhi wa sallam) said :

"he should give one mudd (approx. half a kilo) "

It is reported about Anas ibn Malik (radhiallahu `anhu) that he couldn't fast (the ramadan) of a year so he prepared the dish called tharid  in a tub and fed 30 masaakeen from it

[Ref: Sunan daraqutni 2/206; H : 2365 with an authentic chain]
