EXPLAINING THE HADEETH " PUSH THEM (JEWS AND CHRISTIANS) TO THE NARROWEST PART OF THE ROAD"

Question : Kindly explain the hadeeth :

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not initiate the greeting of salaam to a Jew or Christian, and if you meet them in the street, push them to the narrowest part of the road."

PROOFS FOR NO RACISM IN ISLAM

Allah Says "O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers"  [Qur'an 49:11]
